Timber Buyer at Derome Skog

Derome is a family business that develops alongside customers and employees. Our core values of sustainability, simplicity, drive, and responsibility permeate our operations. Today, we have around 2,500 employees and expect to generate approximately 10 billion SEK in revenue.

At Derome, we work to ensure that every employee thrives and wants to stay long-term. We do this by valuing a healthy work life with an open, positive, and inclusive work environment. We also focus on professional development and close, engaging leadership. Simply put, we want you to feel good and proud to be part of the company.

Job Responsibilities

We at Derome Skog are looking for an experienced timber buyer or a person with equivalent forestry competence to join our team in Markaryd and surrounding areas! Here, every employee is as unique as the trees in the forest.

We work together, share knowledge, and develop as a team. Now we need more competent colleagues.

The Derome Group is Sweden's largest timber industry. While we work with wood, we do much more than that. We work with people, transform forests into timber, build homes, and realize dreams. As a timber buyer, relationships are a crucial part of the job. Many of our landowners have forests that have been passed down through generations, and our role is to help them manage their forests in the best way possible.

As a timber buyer, you will be responsible for the entire process, from purchasing standing timber and delivery timber to production management of logging. You will provide forestry advice and drive business development to create long-term partnerships. Your daily work will involve contact with landowners, contractors, transporters, and authorities, and you will have significant responsibility where your phone and computer are your most important tools.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of timber buyer, we believe that:

  • You are a relationship builder who creates new contacts and nurtures existing ones.
  • You are business-driven and motivated to do your best for each customer based on their needs.
  • You have a forestry education and a strong interest in forestry.
  • Experience in timber purchasing is an advantage.

As a person, you are a service-oriented team player with the ability to handle both details and strategic issues. You will be an important part of our purchasing team, working together for sustainable and profitable forestry.

Additional Information

We strive for increased diversity and a balanced gender distribution and welcome a variety of ages and ethnic/cultural backgrounds among our employees.

During the hiring process, we conduct reference checks, alcohol and drug tests, and background checks. This is our way of ensuring high quality in both the recruitment process and our work environment.

We kindly but firmly request no direct contact from staffing and recruitment agencies or sellers of additional job advertisements.

We apply ongoing recruitment, so if the above position suits you, do not hesitate to apply today!

About Us

Derome makes more of the forest. We work closely with forest owners, with local offices and buyers. In our forestry business area, you will be part of a team with solid industry knowledge and many years of experience - wood and handshakes are our raw materials.
